The CMIP certificate program is a rigorous online and in-person certificate program designed to help environmental services leaders get in lockstep with infection prevention programs that fight HAIs. It also provides professionals with the requisite knowledge to meet the CMS requirements for a “trained” professional in infection prevention specific to the clinical environment of care. This comprehensive program explores the most critical topics in infection prevention, including microbiology and epidemiology; patient and health care worker safety; surveillance, risk assessment, and outbreaks; antimicrobial stewardship; evidence-based cleaning practices and environmental monitoring; and preventing infection during construction and emergencies.
