Description
Review of recent developments related to environmental cleaning and disinfection in healthcare facilities.
Learning outcomes:
- To implement effective strategies for monitoring of automated disinfectant dispensers.
- To review recent evidence on the impact of interventions to improve cleaning and disinfection of portable equipment.
- To understand the advantages and disadvantages of different continuous decontamination technologies.
- To be aware of approaches to reduce the risk for transmission of infection from sink drains.
Speaker:

Curtis Donskey, MD, is an Infectious Diseases physician and hospital epidemiologist at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and a Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. His research focuses primarily on epidemiology and control of healthcare-associated pathogens. His work has been funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
