Train-the-Trainer Program (T-CSCT)
The Certified Surgical Cleaning Technicians (CSCT) Train-the-Trainer (T3) program equips health care environmental services leaders with the knowledge and instructional skills to train and certify EVS technicians at their organization. Participants will earn a T-CSCT designation, required for leading training and facilitating certification. Share critical pathogen control and disinfection concepts within surgical areas and certify EVS technicians within your organizations to drive exceptional performance.

Learning Outcomes
The primary learning outcome of this program is for EVS leaders to be prepared to deliver training to their teams using the curriculum listed below and the associated program elements they receive during their training.
Your Role in the OR
Review the critical role and responsibility of surgical suite cleaning and the importance of HIPAA laws.
Prepare for Action
Identify high-touch objects, risk of cross-contamination and how to differentiate pathogens and classify the levels of disinfectants.
Master the Procedures
Explain proficiency in methods, zones, precautions and utilizing PPE for various cleaning and disinfection procedures and tasks.

Discuss critical thinking and effective communication skills to handle time pressures and problem-solving on the job.

Program Details
The CSCT Train-the-Trainer program is offered numerous times throughout the year in both in-person and virtual formats. Participants will earn a T-CSCT designation that prepares you to facilitate training for the staff in your department to earn their CSCT certificate.

Continuing Education Credits (CECs): 24
Credit hours can be used toward the renewal of the CHESP, CHEST, CSCT and CNACC credentials.
Trainers who miss more than 2 hours of the Train-the-Trainer (T3) program will not be eligible to become designated as a trainer until the missed portion is made up at a later AHE offering. This makeup session will require a nominal fee for processing and administration purposes.

Designated Trainer List
Once EVS leaders complete the T-CSCT program, they will become active designated CSCT Trainers and must keep their trainer status current by following the eligibility requirements.
Certified Technician List
Once the EVS technicians pass the CSCT certification exam, they become active CSCTs. Valid periods of their certification will show on the list of active CSCT-certified technicians.
