The Leadership Summit features senior health care executives, clinicians and experts in the field presenting high level, transformational strategies and innovative approaches for delivering greater value and health equity through operational excellence, creative partnerships, and redefined delivery models. What qualities make an outstanding leader, whether in health care or another field? Your list may include being collaborative, courageous, empathetic, innovative, inspiring, and intelligent. Based on my experiences and observations during the COVID-19 pandemic, I’d add a couple more: being humble and resilient. 
Recognizing the ongoing efforts of hospital and health systems fighting COVID-19 in their communities while also providing care for other patient needs, the AHA has cancelled its Leadership Summit, scheduled for July 19-21, 2020 in San Diego, and all affiliated events.
